Heyo,
Welcome back to another edition of the Digital Brand Builders newsletter, a newsletter teaching you one actionable lesson you can use each week to build, scale, and monetize your personal brand in less than five minutes.
And by the end of every edition, I’ll leave you with a few action steps you can follow so you can grow and monetize your own digital brand this upcoming week.
Sound like a plan?
Alrighty, let’s dive right into this one!
Here’s what we’ll be covering this week:
How to launch a successful giveaway on social media.
This Week’s Blueprint 🗺
I spent the past few weeks building a free 6-day email course on how anyone (and I mean anyone) can build, scale, and monetize their own email list to 5-figures/month.
But I didn’t just build it for the sake of building it.
No. I spent countless hours creating the course so I could use it as a sales asset for my high-ticket offer.
But here’s the thing… I wanted to get as many eyeballs on this thing as possible so I could increase my email subscribers, leads, and ultimately sign a few clients down the line.
And the best way I know to do that?
Launching a giveaway on social media.
So this week, I want to show you the exact process I followed to launch a social media giveaway that led to:
- 11K impressions
- Over 100 new followers
- Dozens of new email subscribers
Let’s break it down ↓
Step 1: Create a Sales Asset
Now, whether you’re looking to gain more followers, increase your email subscribers, or land a few clients, you first need to offer something valuable to your audience.
And what better way to do that than by giving them a sales asset.
I won’t get too much into the nitty gritty of this since I’ve already written a previous newsletter on the topic (you can read that here).
But let’s quickly break down what a sales asset is.
Honestly, it’s exactly what it sounds like. A piece of content or some sort of “asset” that you can use to attract new leads and customers to your business.
The best converting sales assets are:
- VSL’s
- Case studies
- Free courses or videos
Really anything that highlights you as an authority or thought leader and solves a problem your audience is facing.
For example, I created a free email course because my audience is mostly creators and business owners who are looking to start (or grow) their email list so they can increase their revenue.
Step 2: Build a Simple Landing Page
Now that we have our sales asset complete, we need a place to drive traffic so we can get people to sign up to our email list.
And the best way to do that is by building a landing page!
Don’t worry, it doesn’t need to be anything complicated. But I would recommend it include:
- Headline about who it’s for
- A short description of what it is
- A simple image that shows your asset
- A place to capture your audience’s emails
Take my own landing page for example. It took maybe 45 minutes to create with Carrd.
Now all that’s left to do is integrate your email provider and you’re all set!
(I show you exactly how to do that in my new email course. You can sign up for free here)
Step 3: Write the Copy for Your Giveaway
By this point we’ve already finished the hardest part of this entire process.
Now we just need to… well, actually launch the giveaway!
Since X/Twitter is the main platform I use, I launched my email course over there. But the same process applies for any social media platform you choose.
Here’s what my giveaway post looked like:
Now, you’ll notice a few things about the content…
- I included my authority (I’ve made my clients over $435K with email)
- I included the benefits of what my sales asset was (a free email course to help you build, grow, and monetize your email list to 5-figures/month)
- I told my readers what to do if they wanted the course (like and comment)
- I included an aesthetic image to evoke curiosity
Step 4: Send the DM’s to Anyone Who Engages
I use a tool called Hypefury to send automated DM’s to anyone who engaged with my giveaway. It can be a huge timesaver if you don’t want to send DM’s manually to everyone.
But whether you use an automation tool or not, you still need to write the actual message you’re going to send to everyone who engages with your giveaway.
Here’s what my message looked like:
You’ll notice I included a quick welcome, the link to download the course, and a call-to-action for anyone interested in my offer.
Why include a CTA, you might ask? Well, because people who want your giveaway have already shown an interest in you and what you do.
They’re warm leads. And a lot of warm leads already want to buy what you’re offering. All you gotta do is ask.
Step 5: Share Your Giveaway With Your Network
I’ll be honest.. it can be tough to get a lot of traction on social media unless you have an engaged network to share your content with.
Luckily over the past few months, I’ve been building up a network of people who have similar goals and aspirations as me… all of whom want to support one another and see succeed.
So who do you think I turned to when I promoted my giveaway? Exactly, my network.
I immediately shared the post with everyone I’ve had conversations with in the DM’s, as well as sent it to a community I recently joined.
And that, my friend, is the real secret to the giveaway’s success.
So if you don’t have a network of supportive people who all want to see one another win, I’d recommend you start connecting and starting conversations with as many people as you can.
Trust me… it’s one of the highest ROI things you can do as a brand owner.
