Truth is, people don’t trust big businesses and logos like they used to.
They trust the people behind the logos.
- Their faces
- Their stories
- Their experiences
The people that make up a company are more personable and relatable than the company itself.
Let’s look at Microsoft as an example:
The tech giant has 21 million followers on LinkedIn. Not bad, right?
But that number is tiny in comparison to the company’s co-founder, Bill Gates, who has over 35 million followers on the platform:
But why is that? Well, because people know who Bill Gates is. He’s a talking face who shares valuable insight and lessons. He’s relatable and personable.
But a huge tech company like Microsoft? People just can’t relate to it like they can the co-founder, an actual, genuine human being.
Here’s the takeaway and how you can use this for yourself:
People crave authenticity. They want to get to know the person behind the logo.
So give it to them!
- Share your wins and losses
- Share your personal stories
- Share your experiences and lessons
- Be open and honest about everything
Because transparency builds trust. And trust builds businesses.
