Traditional PR is slowly dying.
Yet, most marketers are still in denial. They’re chasing:
- Cheap headlines
- Empty impressions
- Media that rarely drives any real impact
How do I know?
Because I started my career in public relations. And for a while, I thought we were winning.
We’d land our clients mentions in outlets like Forbes and NBC. Lots of impressions. Lots of buzz and publicity.
But I quickly realized something not enough founders do:
You can drive all the impressions and publicity in the world. But it doesn’t mean a thing if you can’t actually tie it back to real results.
Truth is, traditional PR is built on optics. 99% of the time, it’s just about appearances – not outcomes.
And honestly, it’s an outdated playbook.
Because the brands winning today? They’re not just waiting for journalists to tell their story…
…they’re telling it themselves with:
→ Founders who show up daily and build in public
→ Behind-the-scenes content that *actually* builds trust
→ Authentic stories that demand attention and rally a community
Modern-day PR isn’t just about media.
It’s about real, raw personality and building a genuine community of people who know, like, and trust you.
Because people don’t connect with logos or massive corporations like they used to.
They connect with the people behind them.
And when the face of the company is the one creating demand?
You don’t need to beg for attention. You attract it.
